Bushnell Perma Focus

I was shown a pair of perma focus binocs by a friend and asked to guess how much they cost. I was way off! I was impressed with the clarity and the fact that you just throw them up to your eyes and what ever you want to see is instantly in focus with no wheel to turn. This appealed to me as an outdoorsman because you often don't have much time to get a look at a wild animal or bird before they're gone.Fumbling with a wheel while wearing gloves or mittens is usually a loosing battle as well.
The only short comings I found are that they aren't water proof or fog proof wich may or may not be an issue and they won't focus on anything too close, say 30 yards or closer. This may fustrate some bird watchers.
I bought two pair of 10x42 on line, one for me and another as a Fathers Day gift, for the price my friend payed at the store and so far so good.

The image is bright and clear at a distance. However, I could not get them to focus on anything closer than 50 feet.
Does exactly what they claim!

The Bushnell PermaFocus bincoculars are a godsend for people who share them during use as everyone's eyesight is different. That means with most binoculars spending time focusing to your own clarity, handing it back, having that person refocus, and wasting time if what you're viewing is wildlife or something else in motion. These binoculars enable you to point and view with perfect clarity. They're not suited for things in your near field of vision, but then again, that's not why you buy binoculars, is it? Anything in medium to long distance looks spectacular...highly recommended and quite unique.

It is okay for normal use. You do need to wear eyeglasses if you are near-sighted. The weight is on the heavy side, so not very handy if you have an active trip somewhere.
Good Binocs

These binoculars are good for the price. One thing to think about is the eye area. There are no rubber eye holders, so it is akward to look through. The viewing is clear and the permafocus works well.
